“Bringing Back Community” is an Elijah’s House initiative to bring food and people together to talk about topics that plague their community.

This summer we had the best fun working in Word Choice Cafe Cooking Segment Cooking With Cops. Chef Karl Cunningham join the Program for 6 weeks every Wednesday from 4:30 to 6:00 pm. Click on the link below and see what happened during the Program's ending event.
We’ve got the cookin’ thing down to an Art…our next goal is to put the WORD in Word Choice Café.
We're bringing community in our Program by partnering with Chicago Police.
RESPONSE TO COVID-9
Urban Teen Magazine created an online Publication focusing on current topics and public interests. Thirteen young journalist collaborated online to write and report issues that affect our communities, local and federal government, and the pandemic. WHAT WE WANT TO ACCOMPLISH
Using food as a catalyst to bring people together, our Program will serve as a place to encourage community talks around the table.
Build relationships among urban young people, Chicago Policemen and their communities.
HOW WE SHALL ACCOMPLISH OUR GOAL
The goal is to
Address the needs of community through a series of dialogue that achieve positive outcomes
Improve interactions between police and teens
Stop gun violence in Chicago communities through positive activities
