ABOUT THE INITIATIVE
“Bringing Back Community” is an Elijah’s House initiative to bring food and people together to talk about topics that plague their community.
Bringing Back Community is funded by Safe and Peaceful Communities and Sponsored by Afterschool Matters, and Resilience Partners, nfp.
This year we have recruited over 60 teens to participate in our Word Choice Cafe Cooking With Cops sessions.
We’ve got the cookin’ thing down to an Art…our next goal is to put the WORD in Word Choice Café.
We're bringing community in our Program by partnering with Chicago Police.
This Summer we have recruited over 60 teens to participate in our Word Choice Cafe Cooking With Cops sessions. Chef Karl Cunningham is back and will join the Program for 6 weeks every Thursday from 4:30 to 6:00 pm.
